AMASOSHA WALKED AGAINST BLACK ON BLACK VIOLENCE AND FEMICIDE IN BLUE

Following the brutal attacks that happened in the Johannesburg CBD and Hilbrow area in the past weeks 12 people died and many injured and still traumatized.
These attacks made headlines worldwide, painting South Africa as an unfriendly and an unwelcoming country. The Dr S.B Radebe foundation took to the streets of Johannesburg calling on these attacks to end. The peaceful march was intended to promote a healthy lifestyle and also to remove the negative stigma surrounding South Africa, particularly Johannesburg.
The 21st of September 2019 marked the sixth annual Dr S.B Radebe foundation health walk that commenced from the iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge to Zoolake.
The 8 kilometer walk saw more than 20, 000 participants according to the organizers. Among the participants were Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Department of Correctional services, Johannesburg Metro Police Department, MEC for Finance among the delegation.
Dr Prophet Radebe who is the founder of the foundation has close relations with a lot of international organisations, governments and business people. The Prophets condemnation of the xenophobic attacks, however does not stem from the prophets affiliation with these stake holders, but from the his kind nature and principles. "How can you be an African and be a
foreigner in Africa.?" This is the question the prophet often asks every time these xenophobic attacks occur.
The Universal Peace Federation is an organisation centered on universal values for all, values that embrace morality, social order and building families among other traits.
The UPF Education Director Africa, Reverend Ghomsi Jean-Augustine expressed his excitement to be part of this year’s walk also highlighting that UPF shares the same values as those of the Prophet. The Reverent went on to say "we have been in partnership with the Prophet since 2014, and I came here to support the prophet, members and Inkululeko Yesizwe today." The Reverent said that
everyone wants peace but the world is violent, cultures are clutching , religions/races are fighting one another because of poverty and women face rape and children’s rights are being violated. Reverend proudly walked the 8 kilometer journey and also admitted that it was not an easy walk. However his passion to support the Prophet propelled him to soldier on until the finish line.
Amasosha walked in the streets that were engulfed by a dark cloud, that was caused by the shedding of innocent blood. The streets that were once considered a war zone were painted blue by amasosha who marched and walked denouncing xenophobia. Amashosa is a community of different ethnic groups who come from different provinces and African countries.
“21st September 2019, is a day to remember in the streets of Hilbrow, when we witnessed how the anointed are favored and chosen. Keep on ignoring them but the heavens will do the impossible through them.” Said Apostle Babalwa Manuel of The Revelation Church of God. Apostle analyzed the significance of the walk and to her,
the walk signified a cleansing ceremony of the blood shed during the organized attacks against foreign nationals.
The presence of the Department of Correctional services was most welcomed, considering the foundation and the church’s role in assisting in the reintegration of offenders into the society . Chaplain Mpho Chaane on behalf of the department loaded the church in implementing various programs, including spirituality, anger management and many more.
“ We work a lot with churches to assist our inmates with their spirituality and one such church is The Revelation Church of God.” Chaplain Chaane also singled out the significance of preparing the offenders before reintegrating them into the society.
It is also worth noting that Amasosha of The Revelation Church of God are the only people who , as a church took the initiative to condemn xenophobia and femicide in the streets of Johannesburg.
The Dr S.B Radebe foundation continues to be home to many gainful projects that have offered many disadvantaged members of the Revelation Church of God and the wider community a helping hand. Through the annual walks hosted in four provinces and three countries the foundation fundraise toward their betterment.
Dr Prophet Uzwilezwe expressed his gratitude to the different delegations that participated in this year's walk, the prophet also expressed his disapproval of the current killings saying although September is regarded as the heritage month, such is not the case with The Revelation Church of God and Inkululeko Yesizwe Association
“ we celebrate heritage through-out the year.” The prophet went on to also say “ the walk was to say no to xenophobic attacks, and the gender based violence and violence against children.” “ Part of the solution to all of these attacks is for us to return to our origins and good cultural practises that promote and teach us to value women.”
The walk was not only educational, it also created a platform for families and friends to spend time together. Enjoy the fun filled activities that were made available as well as entertainment repertoire of music line- up
An awards ceremony was also held for those who participated in the marathon, the marathon saw 200 runners participate aged between 17 to 76.
For those who brought t their little ones,there were games galore such as, tug of war, jumping castle and many more. The smiles on the children's faces were priceless. Most of them had their faces painted with beautiful colors, and had their teeth examined at the Colgate stall for any oral dysfunctions.
Skroof of Abazi entertainment set the stage on fire as the audience rapped along to his lyrics.
The famous maskandi singer Mbuzeni was the crowd's favourite as he sang his Zulu rendition of Shine bright like a diamond, the track was originally sang by Rihanna who after hearing Mbuzeni’s version invited him for a collaboration.
They say save the best for last, imithemte brought the stage down when they performed their hit song Uthunywe yimfihlo. The songs speaks of Dr Prophet Radebe who has been anointed by the Creator to restore Africa.
The event would have been incomplete without the sponsors present, Lesedi Youth Project who offered free HIV, Diabetes tests.
Green world gave free multi-vitamin pills to kids aged 6-12, stressing the importance of a nutritious healthy balanced diet for children.
Virgin Active gym who offered reduced fee for new membership as well as free gym bags. Those who went to the stall to enquire also were gifted with goodies in the form of key rings and street balls.
Romans pizza donated their profit to the Dr S.B Radebe foundation .
